high quality Stainless Steel sheet/coil after being expanded on the automatic expanded machines. Stainless Steel expanded metal is used in a variety of corrosive atmospheres; its long life pays back its seemingly high cost.</P> <P>Type 304 </P> <P>The analysis of Type 304 is similar to Type 302 (the basic "18-8" chromium-nickel stainless steel) except that it is modified by lowered carbon content.&nbsp; This provides good resistance to corrosion in welded construction.&nbsp; Also available in an extra low carbon analysis, known as Type 304L.&nbsp; The advantage of this analysis is that it precluded any harmful precipitation in the 425-815C (800-1500F) temperature range, such as might otherwise occur in welding heavier sections. </P> <P>Type 316 </P> <P>Type 316 is modified by the addition of molybdenum, which greatly increases its corrosion resistance as well as its mechanical properties at elevated temperatures.&nbsp;
